High of 81 in Carson on Saturday. I'll be pulling for her, but that's not ideal.
Really now does anyone care ? That ADIDAS meet will have dozens of Olympic/WC GOLD medalists competing and all you care about is some local record ? Get a life !
Yea and those are mostly all sprinters/field events... Letsrun is more of a distance forum (and an American one) and Shalane Flanagan and Jordan Hasay are the two American distance stars competing this weekend.
So we should only care about people who get gold medals? Bronze medals are completely worthless?
Kill yourself.
LR people are racist. They use KKK code words and ignore GOLD medalists beacause they are black. Just goes to show that the U.S., in spite of Obama being elected president, is the most racist nation in the history of mankind.
The U.S. doesn't have any black gold medalists.
I'm not counting sprint events, because no one cares about those.
North Carolina/Massachusetts are clearly the best states in the nation because they were the only ones that produced a medal...
Carson is a terrible place for a track meet.
Not at 4PM. It cools down by then. Carson is inland from LAX and the breeze should be there by 4. Many current Olympic/WC medalists who will be competing at Adidas live nearby, close to the Home Depot Stadium, so the field will be the most immense of any meet in the U.S. this year.
She's the one that left the doping guy isn't she?
I would say no then, not even close.
Letsrun does care about sprinters. Just look at all the Jeremy Wariner threads. And he's white, um, I mean a sprinter.
Word on the street is she's been kicking serious butt in Oregon. I wouldn't be surprised by an American Record.

Jim Ryan set a world record there. Also the birth city of several Olympians. Let me guess, you're a spoiled kid from the burbs who thinks you will get shot the if you step foot out of your cul-de-sac?
It doesn't matter, she thinks she can do it without the dope.
She's kidding herself. All downhill for her now.
Shannon is laughing back wherever they are now, with the needle hanging out of her ass.
Some of you people are truly pathetic...
It will be interesting, because in her current 5k record run and her 10k debut where she first set the record, they were very controlled races that were set up for her with pacers (and Kim Smith, of course). Having some of those Ethiopian women in there should help. Presumably there is still a pacer who will get that group far enough into the race, and hopefully just having the competition will carry all of them through over the final laps.
Regardless of how it all plays out, she should realistically break her own record by a comfortable margin. She did 14:47 indoors a few months ago, which was only 3 seconds off. With three more months of training, a whole group of fast women, and assuming the weather is agreeable, I think she should easily be flirting with that 14:30 barrier.
Yes, she'll get it by 5 seconds. thats my quess and should be a great race!

They are sprinters, and can't do anything except sit on their fat butts and crow about how good they are.
Did you see that one that was on Survivor. Got last place in the run up the hill the first day. What a crack up.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
