I would have said 13:35, but due to inside intel I'm gonna say 13:40.

Inside intel huh. I'll say 13:34. Would love to see him go in the 20s, but can't expect that when he's had two weeks off. I just hope he stays healthy.
13:38 - and it will be a damn good race for him if he runs that.
i'd say anything under 13:50 is a good sign considering the circumstances
but it please everyone
i'm gonna say 13:38.24
If he runs 13:38 it'll be a damn good race for Derrick, as he would most likely beat him with that time. But I just don't think Fernandez would let that happen without an epic fight. So I still think both will be under the AJR.
I think Chelanga will go for the CR and just miss it, maybe 13:09 to 13:12.
DAMN HE JUST RAN A 13:21!!!!!!!
13:31.89
My prediction is 13:18. I think he can run much faster but will be surprised if he runs faster than this time tonight.
I've added up the predictions, averaged to the nearest second. Only actual predictions are included (not "would run"). The middle value is posted for ranges.

13.33, with last 600 (~1.26-28ish) drive to win.
men's 5k 3rd heat - 13:54
What a great race, Chris Derrick in 2nd, 13:28 new U.S. Junior Record! German Fernandez in 4th. I was felt Derrick had a 50/50 chance to beat German today and he did.
Wow nice running Derrick! :)
Tonight, the WCCC, and the cross nationals last fall show the trend.
13:31.78 for Fernandez, 13:29.98 for Derrick.
1. Mead Minnesota 13:28.45
2. Jager Oregon Track 13:29.65
3. Derrick Stanford 13:29.98
4. Fernandez, Okla St 13:31.78
Great race for Hasan Mead, and great effort by Chris Derrick. German F. ran well but was owned by Derrick.
I knew Derrick was gonna be there. Now he can get some of the well-deserved spotlight. But man, 13:31 for first 5K ever is pretty sweet too. Faster than I predicted, given the fact that he had to take a couple weeks off. Awesome. Imagine what the times will be when these guys are seniors!

This was posted a few hours BEFORE the race. Impressive.
It is also impressive that if you ask a group of any idiots what they think, chances are when you average their estimates the result will be pretty close: 13:30.36
They all should be glad I was not in the race. How U doooooooooooooin!!!
