That's what the little tinkerbell said on Flotrack a couple of years ago too...
Striaght out of Charlottesville baby...
2:54.8/46.7/1:49.7/3:59.5.
They're just getting started too. 2 of those guys (Taye on the 1200 and Roller on the 800) are true frosh, and next year they have the following coming in as frosh:
Robbie Andrews (2:22 for 1000 this indoor season)
Taylor Gilland (4:13 mile)
Brett Johnson (footlocker finalist, 4:08.51 as a junior)
TJ Hobart (1:56.12, 4:12 for 1600)
Zach Vrhovac (1:52 for 800 outdoors)
If this comment was made about any other school, it would have been removed instantly....

From the flotrack video, it appears Emmanuel split 3:55. Oh me, oh my.
I saw several athletes running on the inside line. The cones were placed too far inside the inner lane and some of the runners were able to run far closer to the inner lane than would have been possible had a pole been in place.
Cones don't keep the race honest when they are placed OFF of the track as they were in this race. Just look at the videos to verify.

Does anyone have the 800 splits for all the teams or the teams of either heats? I want to know who had the fastest 800 leg. I would take the time to get splits for all of them on Flotrack but I guess I am too lazy.
Ludwig split 1:47.7 for the Badgers, unless Kent State's guy went faster I'd think that was the fastest 800 split.
Tyler Mulder more than likely did
Mulder split 1:46.5
I just got back from an officials meeting. There might have been a timing error in the DMR. Officials looked into it after the high number of automatic qualifiers. I keep you tuned.

Gee, they'd better drug test everyone too. It's obviously too good to be true so something must be wrong.
If there was a timing error, it can only be a matter of tenths of a second. Either that or the FloTrack video is also plagued by a timing error. We can see the winner of the first heat starts at 0:24+ and finishes at 9:54.
Unless they started in the wrong spot, they all ran that fast. Those cones instead of a rail don't mean squat either. Live with it. They showed up to run and got the job done.
If the FAT is messed up, they surely have hand times as backup (they are required to do this, no?) and the teams that hit the auto will still be under that and deserve to be at NCAAs.
Wisco's Christian Wagner DNF? Does anyone know what happened? Injured? Sick?

I watched the video to see what happened - he was in the chase pack and running solid pace but the camera followed the leader and when the pack came through he was not there. My guess is that he had a qualifying mark that was better than what he could finish in so he did not push for no purpose. Of course, it could be that he felt a twinge in his foot (plantar problems had hindered him for several years). No inside info.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
