I'd be down anytime to talk to Gabe Jennings or some other alternative mind about how the following fit into athletics, and running of course in particular...
Training with sense deprivation, most notably taking away the sense of hearing through high decibel reducers (31+)such as headphones, or the sense of sight through a blindfold (mindfold by alex grey recommended.)
Why the muscles of the face have a profound effect on running efficiency, and in broader terms "vision" as a whole. Originally sparked by the remarkable resemblance in the dense musculature in the cheek region of elite athletes (which holds the eyes more steady), but more notable in the volcanic shaped muscle located at the third eye point in between and slightly above the two regular eyes and how pronounced it is in these individuals especially; Michelangelo, Leonardo, Bernard Lagat in his last 50 meters of a race if he is really fighting, Michael Johnson, Tiger Woods, Lance Armstrong, etc.
Why having a cast of your naked body so that you may read (through staring/gazing) your deficencies is more productive than simply turning out mile after mile in a
body that does not have the potential for world class goals the mind can so easily set.
Why runners in the future will pity those of us that raced in shoes on a track.
What the benefits of giving our elite athletes the choice of what to wear and how much of it...(how ridiculous it is for men to be racing in anything more than it takes to keep their balls in place! props go to the women who wear functional clothing and are only making the mistake of wearing shoes)
How marijuana can reduce chances of injury due to its ability to increase kinisthetic awareness of the body.
Why a gigantic drum circle on the infield of any meet would help put athletes in the "zone" and thus lead to quicker times in the US, and the world.
How fasting can be used in the offseason to rid the body of its waste accumulated during the racing season and how it can be used to completely restructure the body for higher performance much like Lance Armstrong did as a result of his chemotherapy.
Anyways, these are a few things I'd list under your topic of INTERESTING DISCUSSION. So, Gabe Jennings, lets hear what you have to say about the above or something of your own as stating a problem that exists (board losing interesting topics) can be done by any feeble mind.
