Bitch move Rojo. Bitch move.
Typical of Webb to say "Mine was done in a double" and "on a banked track"
Alan do they put these footnotes on the record? Lame.

I'd say that is fairly even. You would think Webb would have been a bit more excited to see another up-and-comer.
False. Andrews only ran the 1000.

WHO CARES?! Andrews 2:22 > Webb 2:23. Can we lock the thread now?
Why lock the thread now? So you can get the last word.
I don't htink there's any doubt that both are very good runners.
I also doubt that any of the runners are in their top shape for indoor season.
that's because a lot of people still like webb but don't know it... they know he's good, but they like to rip on him instead of praising him for being an awesome runner. Just cuz he eats fast food and doesn't always talk like a gentleman, doesn't mean doesn't have heart.

They do have different qualifying standards for banked/oversized tracks, so it's not crazy to point out the difference in a casual conversation, is it?
When Webb was interviewed about Fernandez's HS double, he said something along the lines of, "Holy Sh|t! That's unbelievable!" So don't paint him as incapable of acknowledging someone else's success.
Fernandez did not break any of Webb's record did he?
hmmmmm, why would he care?He said something about this one.

Off the top of your head, what's the indoor world record for the mile on a flat track? Now, where can I find that. A time is a time. One is faster, and therefore superior, to the other.
flat track vs. banked makes a real difference in as fast a race as a 1000m. running a 4:12 earlier makes a difference. and we know that webb, going on to run 1:47.74 and 3:53:43, was better than andrews at every distance. Webb was being heckled by Brojo, so he responded in kind, but it was not for public consumption. As for Andrews, that is an incredible time, less than two seconds off of Symmonds's win in the elite 1k, and sets him up for a great outdoor season.
I wonder if Andrews, Greer and Mellon will be running any big 800 meter races indoors. The HS record is 1:50.55, and should be obtainable.
Don't forget Cas Loxsom from Connecticut. He's run a pair of 2:27's all alone:

Because I would rather not have people believing false rumors about races someone didn't run.

This being the case - see the sub-1.50 800m thread for a conversion from 600m to 800m (1.40x 600time = 800m time) - what would be an appropriate conversion from 1000m to 800m? I guess it could be anywhere from .75 - .78 x 1000m = 800m. It is is agreed that 600 to 800 (1.37-1.43x = Ave.1.40x, would 1000 to 800 be Ave..765x (.75-.78)?
This would mean the 1000m in 2.22 would be worth about a 1.49 800m. Of course, the way that race was run (last 800m in 1.52) might mean that a quicker 1000m time could have been run with more even splits - 28's throughout might have produced a 2.21 time, but perhaps he might also have tied up a bit if he had gone out too fast.
