Just saw it on the website. Andrews vs. Greer outdoors is going to be insane.

please don't forget mellon from MN
link? 800 split?
wtf iz diz shiiiii?
1:55 apparently.
The dyestat boards had him going out in 60.x and closing in 1:22...
"After a slow first 200 (29.4) Robbie Andrews (Manalapan, NJ) runs a 1:52.8 last 800 to break Alan Webb's NATIONAL RECORD with a 2:22.28 ."
Nice!
Don't forget Webb set the record on a flat track...
He did go out in 60, then ran a 55 and closed in 27.

Bingo.
I'm at the Reebok Boston Indoor Games. As I was heading down for dinner, I saw this thread. I walked into the dinner and there was Webb. I said, "Hey man, I got some bad news. You lost your 1k hs record."
He said something to the effect of I know. Mine came on a flat track and in a double.
Apparently, he'd already run a 4:10 mile previously.
When I heard this I said "I got your back. Yours is way more impressive. I wonder what a 3:53 mile equates to in the 1k - probably close to the American record."
Andrews still is damn good. Closing at 25 pace on the Millrose track while coasting is insane.

Hey now, don't be hasty. It could have been taco bell or McDonalds.
So that would make me the only one who thinks that a 2:22 is more impressive than a 2:23 - no matter what the excuses of the slower runner. I never really had a negative impression of Webb until just now. What a little bitch. Keep making those excuses and see where it gets you, burger boy.
Absurd diatribe between Webb and whomever. And really a snipe, somewhat trying to cheapen Andrews' new mark.
he did not nip it by 2/100ths, he ran under by 1.4
Did anyone call Thom Hunt, after Webb ran 3:59.x at Armory and say to him "man, your 4:02.7 is down the drain" Only to hear Hunt say" Well I ran mine on 160 track at Sunkist Meet?
What way to down play a huge moment, and at least get it right Webb ran 4:12.x for 1600 before, it is easily looked up.
Hunt ran 4:02 at Jack In The Box in San Diego.

Sounds like someone is not too excited about opening his season 7 seconds slower than a certain college freshman did (in his first indoor race ever).
Also heard that Robbie ran a 1:52 on the relay before his 1K.
This is just what webb needs, the future running up at him from all sides. Quit being immature by chasing the older lagat. Now you have rival Willis who has proved himself AT THE OLYMPICS and a bunch of young bucks coming up out of the cracks. Wait till wheating runs a few more 1500's with fast competition. time to wake up webb, if it aint working make a change or you will be lost in the progress.
This is a guy who ran 3:53 in high school and at 27:36 debut 10K, but could only come up with an 8:24 2 mile at pre when the pressure was on for some American to break the record, and then 3:55 last year at Pre. C'mon.

160y boards with a lot of dead spots. I guess by Webb's logic, that makes Hunt faster. But Webb had menstrual cramps that day so maybe it evens out.
Sorry fact.checker, I am an old guy, but was young when I stayed up for that one, I thought it was Sunkist, I am sure you are right, still:
Just a cheap shot at someone who now has a mark that is considerably better than the old, and some folks still want to kiss Webb's ass, even though he is barely the runner right this minute, if that, that ran 3:53.x in HS, and I am a huge Webb fan, but he looks thick ,overweight and sluggish on video I saw.

Garbage... Garbage... Another whining "super-fan."
His mile at George Mason was essentially a workout; so no, he doesn't give a rip about German's 3:56 "threatening" his status.
Watch the FloTrack interview with Webb. He clearly states that he's made changes, realized his mistakes and is ready for some redemption.
Calm down, shut up, and get with the program.
