Say I went to a T-shirt place with a black singlet and had them press LetsRun.com on it just like the logo.
Could I be sued?

Yes, I THINK you could. I don't know why they would though (unless you miserably suck) due to the free advertisement.
How would they establish damages?
No, if you just make one for yourself or even a friend or two.
Yes, if you make hundreds and start selling them without Rojo's permission.
you can be sued for everything. even for just breathing.
No, of course not.
Of course, it begs the question: why would you?
It's called copywrite laws. They own the name. At least you can pat yourself on the back, you thought of a money making scheme. Unfortunately, it's theirs. (Really, run with the idea, as long as you don't sell it you should be fine. I hope)
Yeah, you sure know what you're talking about.
I agree with the person who said it depends on how fast you run.
If you run slow, it hurts the image we've worked tirelessly to build over the years that is associated with LetsRun.com.
People associate LRC with fast, elite-level running. Therefore you run anything over 3:40 for 1,500, 13:30 for 5k, 28:00 flat for 10k (29:00 flat if it's a road race that you win), 1:03 for the half-marathon, or 2:12 for the marathon, I think everyone would agree you've damaged our brand.
One bad race and people will instantly start to question all that we've worked to build over 8 years. People would instantly start to question the #1 belief behind the messageboard - that everyone who posts on it is or was a sub 13:30 type and Olympic hopeful (or soon will be thanks to them spending hours on our messageboard).
I just called my lawyer and and told him to monitor this thread like a hawk.

What if the OP is a woman?
Hahaha Rojo, post of the day. Bravo!
Yes, you could be sued.
It you weren't selling them or making money off of wearing the singlet, you wouldn't lose any money.
Why you would want to wear one is a more important issue.
Keep it on the crete.

Didn't wejo wear a letsrun singlet? He didn't hit those times.
Yeah its just like the letsrun.com redesign contest. They want everything for free. First they get professionals to redo their website for a mere $1000 prize, and now they are trying to sponsor professional level athletes without paying them a dime. What a bunch of cheapskates!
Given how comfortable RW and RT types feel in posting to this forum, that image is all but wrecked already!

i think rojos times were assuming she was a chick.
Thread of the week!
What if I made a singlet that just said LetsRun without the .com on it.
It should be OK if you do a subtle change in spelling ie: actually spelling it correctly.
It is no small coincidence that the brojo's advertise their typical butchering of spelling right in their actual site name.

The real question is Am I aloud to write wankerman under letsrun.com part?
