Thanks Trackhead, good info. I am quite surprised to read that. If you don't mind, ask Renato to confirm that pace on those runs. Wow, that's slow.
But I will say that even if it is true(and let's assume it is), it does appear to be an anomaly: even Renato was recommending that they not go so long(or, I assume, so slow). But it appeared to work for those particular guys, so Renato let them do it. But reading much of the rest of what I have seen him write, I reguarly see him prescribing easy runs for his guys that are 6:00 pace or faster. Again, easy for a 13:00 guy. I just have not him seen him saying that his guys (except the ones you mentioned in those instances) would be told to go run 9:00 miles.
Let me know if you find differently (for the MAJORITY)of his guys.
