I think it's a good topic for training. Increasing your ability to hold your breath will indeed help your running. I've been doing it for a few years now and it has definitely helped. I can hold my breath in a pool for a good 2 minutes. David Blaine used to hold his breath for 52 mins in the first hour of waking up. (He'd breath fast for a minute and then hold his breath for 8 mins) - then he set the WR of like 17 or 18 mins
