I am constantly taking my earbuds out, wiping them off, even sticking my finger in my ear in an attempt to dry things out so I can still hear the music. The first half hour is fine, then they are soaked and falling off. What headphones do you run in (if you aren't above training with headphones)?
Do they resist perspiration? Do they stay in place in the wind? How is the sound quality?

This may be useless since I don't wear headphones running and don't even know if ear clip style would be good for the reasons you mention - but can vouch that Koss KSC75 give a hell of an audio bang for the (fifteen or so) bucks. Google for reviews. I guess that series from Koss is fairly legendary. I was recently shopping for headphones for home, and the cheap Koss I listened to weren't *that* far off from the Grados I ended up with at several times their price.
For running with my mp3 player, I buy the kind that wrap around your ear (there's a skinny rubbery piece that runs up behind your ear and comes down over the top to insert the actual earbud) and hold the ear bud in your ear. I buy the cheapest ones - typically $6 at Target - the ones I have now are magnavox. These stay in place really well for me through wind and excessive sweat.
Agreeing with Chica. When your ears get sweaty these kind do not fall out.
Koss-4.99 at Wal-Mart. Forget the buds. Go foam ear cushion. They come with an extra pair you can alternate when they get sweaty.
