I train in Hyperspeeds but with the holes in the sole they are not the ideal snow/ice shoe. Can anyone recommend a similar flat (decent cushion, low heel) that is better suited to harsh winter conditions?

Try buying a pair of Hyperspeeds a size too large, and wear a thin base sock, a plastic grocery bag, and a thicker ski sock when you're out running. If traction is an issue, get those ice clamp things and stick to the snowy trails instead of the roads.
Or, if you want to avoid all that hassle, try the Pearl Izumi Peak XC; it's very lightweight, with a somewhat more rugged upper than the Streak (its road-going counterpart). Pearl Izumi was primarily a biking brand, but they started branching out into running stuff. Their early lines were crap, but then they snatched up some of the developers from both Nike and Asics, and since then they've been pumping out some really good stuff.
i'm a huge fan of the NB 790. it's intended as a trail flat. i find that it has a softer feel than the hyperspeed II, and in fact it fits like a slipper. it is rugged enough for winter running in all conditions (although i combine with yaktrax after ice storms).
Get some bathtub caulk and fill the holes in. Works just fine.
I have a pair of Inov-8 X Talons that I wear as my winter trail running flats. I recently wore them up in the Enchantments at 8000' and they performed well in the snow. They weigh roughly 7.4 ounces and have a really sticky carbon rubber outsole. As far as sizing, they are a bit narrow so you might want to go 1/2 size up, or remove the insole.
Seriously?! That's crazy enough to work, I'm going to try it.
Salomon Speedcross 2 has a winter specific sole lug pattern
I also train in Hyperspeeds since Magic Racers were discontinued. Similar to the bathrub caulk idea, I filled my holes in with shoe goo. I have to redo it every week or so, I don't know if the caulk would last longer.
I got the idea here from Jaguar1. She'd been training in some Adizero PRs and found, as I did, that the little holes in the bottoms filled up with stones. So she used caulk. I did the same and it worked fine.
