You should do them after your run. If running is your focus, expend your energy on that first and than perform the workouts that support your running.
if you have a weak core or poor core awareness, it is probably best to do core work prior to the workout. especially the various plank routines. if you are talking about only doing situps, then do them whenever.
I know teg has a good video on core stuff, can't find it... anyone have the link? also, is there another core video that focuses more on the abs?
