You're obviously not from Massachusetts.
I don't think I'm going to be able to make it this year. Is there any word on a dvd of the summit being made or I think I read someone writing about a possible webcast in another thread.
That's awesome! I'm signing up...
If you go for no other reason, go to see and listen to Vigil. He is truly a national treasure, in addition to being one of the most genuinely nice guys whom I have ever had the opportunity to meet. I could listen to his stories all day for an entire week – he has worked with many great and not so great athletes throughout his long career. The thing that I like most about Joe – despite having a PhD in exercise physiology – is that he really connects with people on a personal level. Joe is getting up there in years and who knows if he will be able to do another round of lectures in the next year. So, go see this guy – his knowledge of training, physiology and athletes are immense, in addition to him being a great human being who is working tirelessly to pass on his wealth of knowledge.
Totally agree about Vigil. He is a definite must see. That said, Danny Green is a loser. He has a great way of talking, but as a coach he is worthless. Basically, what I learned from Green was to do the opposite of what he does. Yes, he has won a lot in a very large rich high school, but it done despite his stupidity.
why would Vince McMahon and Virgil be presenting running awards? Wrestling awards, I would believe.
Thanks for pointing this out.

...Hmmm???? What? "Stupiderer"
Dannny Green is still not worth spending a penny to hear. Oh, and by the way, please forgive me for leaving, "is" out of my previous post. It is so very important to me to make sure that I spell everything correctly and make complete sentences on this ingliche magers message bord.
Why would you think a person has to be an English major to have the mental candlepower to consistently write coherently? Can't even pay attention to what you're writing? Do you even look at the screen while you're typing?
I am going just to hear Greene talk. He's figured out how to do it with high school kids. There are plenty of rich schools that can't even get rich kids out.
Just finding and encouraging talent is half of high school coaching. What do you have against Green? He's one of the most genuine high school coaches I know and loves his runners.
If scorekeeper is so smart then why don't we know about his runners' successes?
actly big ups to green

A. I never said I was smart.
B. How do you know you haven't heard of my runner's successes?
C. Please don't ever assume that just because someone has a winning program, that they are a quality coach. I have know numerous exceptional coaches at every level and their programs never won anything. Not all things are equal between programs. Even at the HS level.
D. I hold nothing against D. Green, but I completely disaggree with his philosophy.
What is his philosophy, and what is yours?
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
