I don't understand all the bickering and comparisons to Craig Virgin. Virgin is history, he's a ghost. We're looking at a key player in the future of U.S. distance running, hopefully. It was disappointing that Derrick got sick and couldn't compete against Fernandez at NON. The 52:44 isn't important, it's the fact that he's apparently healthy now and getting back on track.
I'm a fan of both Fernandez and Derrick. I hope to see them both running well at XC nationals this fall, and on the track next spring. And probably running world class times within the next year or two.
