On the women's side, I thought perri shakes-drayton looked good in winning the 400h over tasha danvers.

Agreed, good for Rimmer. He has proved on a few occasions now that he has the talent, now he is building up his experiance.

Must be the governments fault..Why do the English always blame the government / the council or some other authority for their problems?
Let me guess if you ran UK athletics you would do a much better job.
Thank You. Look, the AAA did a poor job in the '70's and '80's, and did the elite's care? Not really.
Yes, there are beaureaucratic snafu's and waste, and yes, at the grass roots level various programmes have failed, but guess what, IF YA RUN FAST ENOUGH, GOVT. DOESN'T MATTER!
Like the PGA needs Tiger more than the other way around, so it should be with elites and UKA.
My opinion is that Coe/Ovett et al did at the national level what the Africans did worldwide in the '80's - set the bar seemingly 'hopelessly high' and has psyched out the kids. Its that attitude that must change - and I think it will eventually. Probably just needs another Messiah or two.

Sarcasm doesn't suit you mate. The USA is looking good these days, but don't get ahead of yourself. It was only a few years ago that the US was struggling just as badly. Keep in mind that the GB athletes have a severe disadvantage as well. They have to run with their legs shackled by an inept and corrupt organization called UK Athletics.
YOU GUYS NEED PETER COE TO COACH YOUR MILERS AND 800M MEN....AMAZING HOW HE COACHED ONLY ONE ATHLETE AND THAT DUDE DID SO WELL...CAN YOU TELL ME WHY THEY CALLED PETER COE "THE PHARMACIST"? FUNNY HOW COE RYHMES WITH EPO?
