So im doing my first Ironman september 7th (WI) and was wondering if anyone has any recomendations for how long I should take off of running(I consider myself a runner first and foremost)/other activities? Reason I ask is because both of my high school CC coaches are doing Grand Rapids marathon in October and one of them really wants to break 3 hrs after many attempts so I was going to try to pace him for it. I ran a 248 this in may and didnt think it would be too bad to run a sub 3 again but was wondering if this seems a little too close post ironman.
Anyone have any idea how long I wont want to move afterwards?
