When and where did Taylor split 42 on a relay?
Spearman doesn't even run the first 100 of the 200. How is going to run the 400? If Gay doesn't pull a muscle, Spearman wouldn't be going.

X-man, Spearman and Betters have no chance of being on the relay.
If you take the finalists with the fastest time this year, you would have, in order:
Wariner
Merritt
Neville
Larry
You take 6, so you might take Taylor or Clement off the 400h (pretty sure Taylor would want it if they ask) and you would likely take Spoon or Betters. Gay actually said that he wanted to run the 4X4 to stay ahead of Allyson on the medal count?); I don't know if he's now more likely or less likely to want the 4X4 now that he can't run the 200.
For future experience/development, I think a wise coach would have both Larry and Betters in there, even if they substitute with Taylor or Clement for the final.
The committee is Harvey Glance (sprint coach); Bubba Thornton (head coach); Brooks Johnson (HP Div Chair); John Chaplin (men's track & field chair); and Sandra Farmer-Patrick (AAC chair). Not saying that it could happen, but Brooks or John could bump off Harvey and replace him on the committee with Orin Richburg, as he is considered a relay pool coach. My guess is that Sandra would give Jon Drummond (AAC treasurer) the vote.I guarantee you there will be some jockeying by personal coaches and agents to get their guys on the relay pool--remember that if you earn a medal as part of the relay, your appearance fee goes up!I'm almost willing to bet that the young guys like Larry, Betters & possibly Neville will travel on the relay pool, but ultimately get jerked around (example--Ja'Warren Hooker in 2000--he traveled to Sydney, marched in the opening ceremonies, then was told one hour before the first round that he wasn't on the final pool).

Discretionary Selection Committee
The Relay Coach in question, the Head Coach, the High Performance Division Chair (or his/her designee), the appropriate Sports Committee Chair (or his/her designee) and the AAC Chair (or his/her designee) will make the final selection of the remaining relay pool athletes. If the AAC chair chooses to use a designee that designee must meet the definition of an athlete as defined by the USOC. Members of this Committee may only vote in one capacity.
Please don't count Tyson out of the 4x400.
