so, here's one to ponder. how would track runners fare in long track speedskating at the winter olympics? what i mean is, given the fact that track is a far more popular sport than speedskating (meaning there is a larger talent pool in track), and that the two sports seem to require very similar skill sets, what kind of success could an elite (or even sub-elite) runner find if he were to concentrate on speedskating for, say, 2 years?
