Yes, the west is having a pretty bad year. Take a look at the top ten finishers from the regional last year. Eight seniors of that caliber are hard to replace.
1 Kevin Chaves SR Occidental 24:34.85 1
2 Julian Boggs SR Colorado College 24:46.25 2
3 Alex Nichols SR Colorado College 24:54.75 3
4 Alex Ramon SR Occidental 24:59.35 4
5 Ian Batch SR Willamette 25:04.65 5
6 Kiran Moorty SR Colorado College 25:19.30 6
7 Lucas May JR Willamette 25:28.10 7
8 Lucas Nebert SR Willamette 25:28.95 8
9 Francis Reynolds SO Puget Sound 25:29.85 9
10 Shawn Pollard SR Linfield 25:30.00 10
Wow a 9:07 in highscool. That means he should be able to tempo his races in 25:55. Maybe he's been doing marathon paced running during his races? If he still isn't running any races hard when is he finally going to do it? Anyone in the know?
Willy Kaul is not that big--did he have any cuts or bruises?

Also, I heard he will run in 2 weeks, the injury is not serious.
Look for Steven's Point to win the WIAC as well as Nationals!
Willy Kaul will not be at the National Meet mark my words!
Is Jordahl going to win the women's race? Or Borner? Or someone else?
I think it will come down to Jordahl or Borner, should be a good race. My money's on Borner.
Did Stevens Point coach Rick Witt drive the golf cart that hit Willy Kaul at Notre Dame? Was he wearing those pastel Adidas shoes whiel driving it?
Oops, nobody cares about the women's race. Your bad.

I hear he has a closet full of them...
nobody cares about you. back to the cabin with you.
something else must be wrong with Oshkosh. In the last poll they dropped from 8th to 20th, and I doubt that would happen based on one runner's performance. Any word on how the rest of their team is looking?
Anyone know anything about Augustana? They showed a slight but noticeable drop in the polls after a consistent first half of the season. Are they engaging in the standard Augustana meltdown, or was their drop a fluke?
Obviously polls are just best guesses, but like stereotypes they are at least loosely based on reality.
Well if your #1 runner gets hit by a golf cart and is out it might have an impact on your ranking seeing as he is a top 3 in NCAA type guy.
BUMP
Kosgei will win...anyone that disagrees must have been born yesterday. Kosgei has the talent to be a DI AA.
Of course he Kosgei can be a DI AA. History shows many could be and have been. Dan Henderson (Wheaton, IL) was 10th in the DI race in '78 or '79. Arnie Schrader (Stevens Point) was also top 10 in DI race when they used to take top 4 from DIII and let them run the DI race. There were many AA's from DIII over the years in the DI race.

I disagree. Historically, Henderson's 10th place finish and Schrader's 11th, added with David Moller's 19th in 1974 are far and away the most solid performances. Without those, the average finish is 63rd, and even with them only 51st. The women are a little better at a 42 average.
It's very hard to tell if they're actually AA's or not, since the criteria has changed and unlike D3, non-citizens are removed.
do you disagree Kosgei would be a D1 All-american?
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
