Iffffff the NCAA's were run next week, Ryan Hall would finish in the top 5.
This kid deserves all the props.

are you hall's mom? nats aren't for quite a while yet...
Washed up...
I'm basically saying that Hall is possibly running better than any non-Kenyan in the country right now (Torres hasn't raced yet).
After the Notre Dame Inv., Stanford has got to be a VERY clear favorite for the team crown, as they have one more front-runner (Hall beat a great field convincingly).
Stanford is now Colorado + Depth.
Good for him. I hope he does everything he can.
Over a 10k, that race would have been different. Sage didn't go with Hall when he made the move and everyone keyed off Don. The chase pack made a LOT of ground up the last mile on Hall. At NC's, he won't make that move without people going with him.
So what? he's in great shape right now, and he beat Don Sage, a 28:20 10k man. He ran a great race, and its good to see him running like he should. I think he'll certainly be AA at NCAAs, and, if he has a superb race like he did yesterday, maybe top-5 but at least top-10. He's tough!
Sage wasn't too happy...
sage isnt a 28:20 man.. to be construed as such he would have to have run 28:20, something he has not done.
Sage's PR stands 28:40, although I'm sure he can run faster.
Not to be a pessimist, but Hall looked equally impressive last year in Maine. It is entirely too early to tell if he will be top 5 or top 10, especially with all the other returning (and more proven) runners out there.
That's a good point that Hall was impressive in last year's opening race.
Maybe I'm a little over-enthused...but he didn't beat Don Sage last year either.
Dude is no longer a frosh, big woop.
has hall ever run well in a big meet?
i was underwhelmed by his efforts at FL, NCAA XC and USATF outdoors.
Hall ran very well, but it's way too soon to be annointing him a top-10 spot. Talk to us after Pac-10s, at least. And don't even put him close to Jorge. Torres ran 24:07 to beat Goucher's CR today ... a bit tougher course with altitude, uh huh.
Hall actually did beat Sage (Sage ran probably the worst race of his life...I think he had to stop for a little) last year at Maine...its a long year so we'll see. Sage will pick it up at the end of the season when he needs to.

Wasn't Hall third to Ritz and Webb at FLXC? That's not so bad, is it?
Hall ran very well in big meets in high school. I don't have the time to check right now but I think he set the CA State mile or 1600 meet record at the state meet. He also was the state 3200 the previous year. And he won the footlocker mile.
In cross country he was first at state. He also set the Mt Sac course record, which is a big time meet with a lot of history, but the course has been altered a little in the past couple years to make it a little faster.
