I've been experiencing some pain in my foot for the past couple of weeks now. It seems to originate on the top of my foot between the 3rd and 4th metatarsals. when I run on it it will hurt initially but after a mile or two i can't feel it anymore. After running it doesn't hurt at all until the next morning when the pain will be back. Also, in the past couple of weeks that i have been experiencing this it hasn't really gotten any worse with training. It seems to hurt the most when I wear sandals or unsupportive shoes. My questions to anyone who would like to answer are have you ever experienced this type of pain/injury? does this sound like it could be a stress fracture or the beginnings of a stress fracture? and do you think I am risking a long layoff from running if i keep training without letting it get better first?
