Many months ago I recall a lengthy discussion about an article for an approach to training high school cross country runners. The article was by a coach who had his runners run the same distance every day at a hard pace and over time ratchet down the pace and increase the distance. His theory was no easy runs, no long runs, and no intervals.
I recall that his teams had very good success with this approach. I also think there was a lot of debate about whether this burned out runners.
Anybody still have the link?
