anyone know the Hassan runner that was at WSU this weekend? Saw the heat sheets and he was listed as the number 1 seed in both the 1500 and 3000 at 3:55 and 8:20. Thought I was going to see something special in the 3k. However he ran 4:12 and 9:14. Even if you double his time in the 15 he doesn't run 8:20.
My question is who entered this guy or did he enter himself? And how do you get away with listing times like that yet it is quite obvious in this case, as I have seen elsewhere, that runners are blatantly lying and/or have no clue about their actual talents.
In this case specifically, I googled this guy and found the fastest time for 3K was indoor this year at 8:49 and he was listed at running for Lewis and Clark, but was unattached this weekend. He isn't alone when it comes to entering times that are no where near their capablities, and in this case even their PR's. Maybe I am wrong, but 30 seconds faster than a PR in a 3K is an awful big difference.
Thing that really burns me is that at some meets the number of entries are limited and people get knocked out of actually running because losers like this guy lie. Not just a little lie, but a blatant misrepresentation of talent that if it were me, I would be embarrassed.
Am I wrong? Flame away....
