High school is all about the lowest common denominator, i.e., accommodating the fat, the lazy, the stupid, the ugly, whatever.
If you were above average in any of the above departments, HS was relatively good; HOWEVER, if you were above average in randomly bell-curved HS, then you got into a pretty decent college--your curve shifted higher. Suddenly, you are likely, at best, average. Harder to skate by, harder to excel in any/many ways.
So, yeah, I can see that college might present relatively higher pressure.
So...excel!
