I've done a search here on letsrun and on google but didn't come up with any one specific best way. Some say eat fruit and vitamin c others say take fish oil. Has anyone had success with any one thing or all of the above? Thanks in advance.

Interesting. I typed "white blood cell boost" into google and almost all of the links on the first page led to direct examples of foods and drugs that boost white blood cell counts.
The Mayo clinic says:
* Infection
* Use of certain medications, such as corticosteroids, antibiotics or anti-seizure drugs
* Severe physical or emotional stress
* Chronic bone marrow diseases such as a myeloproliferative disorder
* Acute or chronic leukemia
* Tissue damage, such as from burns

1) Get the flu
2) if that doesn't work, cancer would surely do the trick.
Good luck.

NEUPOGEN;)
Malmo hit the nail on the head. Ya still interested in boosting your WBC?
I guess I didn't phrase my google search the same way so the results came up a bit different.
Am I still interested in boosting my wbc count? Yes, not by getting the flu or cancer but I would like to be in the normal range as mine are considerably below normal at 2.7 and my monosites are at 12.3%.

before you look into how to boost your WBCs, you should look into why they are low. you need a medical professional to sort that out. maybe if you figure out what is wrong, you can treat that and your WBCs will correct.
"monocytes" by the way.
The doctor says everything else on my tests are o.k. We didn't do a test for EBV because he didn't want to charge me anymore money and the resolution is the same...rest and recovery. But, his assumption is that I have EBV. I'm a classic overtrainer which I'm growing out of now that this is my second or third battle with EBV. As runners mostly visit here and I've seen lots of posts concerning EBV, mono, etc. I figured some people would have found something that worked well for them in helping them recover faster. Thanks for the correction on monocytes spelling.
if they have done the appropriate workup and haven't found anything, then we can probably chalk it up to overtraining. best thing you can do is to train smarter. whether or not it is EBV is another story altogether.

I don't think you need to - it's a pretty good album already.
