One thing I can always count on at Boston is that when I stop to walk (and I always blow up so that's a certainty too) the crowd will start cheering louder and louder until I start running again. And once I do, they go nuts with the cheering. I have never encountered that anywhere else.
What? Where were you? I came into the race out of shape this year and I had to walk late in the race. I got reamed for it! (It was a "friendly" reaming, though, I should say) Maybe it was because I'm local, which was obvious from my outfit... or maybe the crowd just sensed that I would like it because I'm freaky like that...
2 21 year old female results:
1. Qualified in L.A. with 2:27...Boston 3:22
2. Question in L.A. with 2:40...Boston 3:23
What kind of name is Shad?
You should get a nickname or something!
Boston is my PR...qualified with 2:56 in December (severe food poisoning 10 days prior) and ran 2:48 at Boston.

I'm local too. My singlet says "Somerville Road Runners".
I don't know why they reamed you but all I got was support.

I ran a 2:03 .... at some point on the course ; )
Regardless, I was off 10 minutes, many were off 10 minutes that I spoke with.
Can we do it over again this coming Monday?
