Wow, you really are upset. Well, you are right on one count. You never used the word "all". But when I clear my eyes and read what you wrote, I come up with this:

Looks pretty categorical to me. "People wear it for a status symbol." Period. I don't see any qualifiers there. Not "some". Not "a few". Not even "not all". Just "people". Now, being the below average reader that I am, I took that to mean all people. In the very least, most.
Your writing ability is worse. I don't want to get you any angrier than you already are but the fact remains that your words clearly convey the message as I characterized it. If you wish to restate your point so as to convey a different message, that is up to you.
