Can someone explain how running slower than your 2 mile pace make you faster in the mile.
For instance: If you have a PR of 9:30 in the 2 mile, will running 8 x 800 in 2:25-2:30 (we jogged a 200 for recovery) make you better in the mile?
My coach says it is not good to run under race pace for every workout. He let us run hard on the last one though but I am wondering if the workout was too slow.
