I'm planning on racing my first 5k this weekend at the request of someone who wants me to push him (he won last week's local race by a minute and a half so he asked me today to enter). He told me I can meet him at 8 AM Saturday morning, an hour before the race, for a 4 mile warmup and stretching. A 4 mile warmup seems awful long to me, especially for a 5k. Will it tire me out for the race if I run 4 miles beforehand? I haven't been running that long, cause I'm sure many of you would handle it just fine.
