Welcome to the club- like the previous poster said - check out the thread - it must be 5 years running now - more information on that thread than any non medical professional will ever need.
It is a very frustrating injury - some claim that surgery is not necessary, especially the insurance companies - but my PT said that it gradually progresses and that eventually surgery is your only option. Getting a proper diagnosis is whole other story.
Anyway, check out the thread, and best of luck to you.
Thanks for that. Soon after I posted realised the other thread. Doh
I fear surgery may be the only option for me too. My problem has been getting progressivley worse over 2 years. With spells where it was not obvious even in the slightest that anythnig serious was wrong. I am now restricted to running once a day for a few minutes, that I have stopped altogher because it just wasn't worth putting the kit on.
Thanks for you encouragement.

I never had the surgery...and it never got completely better. I have had this problem for over 20 years but it is really just an anoyance at times now. It isn't really "painful" anymore but I always feel it. If I could go back I would have the surgery because I it really did hurt and affect my running for the first two years or so....
