Not really schools suck, and if you're a runner it's a concrete jungle.
Carlsbad is a great place. The trails are great, the people are nice, and the weather is always nice. The schools are also great, despite the budget cuts.
Just look at the name, carlsbad isnt a good place at all, its BAD.
I run there on saturdays and i am always amazed how many people are running in the morning. a lot of people like it
Carlsbad has a high GAY population!

Give me a break, that place sucks to run.
Carlsbad= cocobutter
Well, if is so bad, then why is Steve Scott there!?!? It's clearly a nice community with many things to do. What are all these postings leading to.....?
Steve Scott lives in Carlsbad because he is 52 year old and only runs 3 miles a day.
If you want to hit up the trails go to San Marcos (Home of the cougars)
I currently live in Carlsbad and I would say it's like most places. Depends where in the city you are. If you got a lot of money, then you'll be fine, there are some not so good schools mostly they are the ones located within a few miles of a barrio, and there are some really good ones. Just do your homework ahead of time. Running wise, I have to agree it's a crappy place to run, granted I pretty much compare everything to Forrest Park in Portland, but here trees don't really exist and everything is mostly brown and covered in scrub brush, and you're always going to be running by housing developments or busy roads when you find a trail, plus most of the trails here are like a mile long if that, there are very few trails longer then that.
The weather here kicks ass thought so that's a huge plus we got.

Lived in San Marcos as well. One of the worst places to live. far as hell from everything, even worse trails than Carlsbad if that's possible. I used to live with some runners from CSU San Marcos and even they didn't know about the trails in San Marcos. What a dump!
steve scott has been living in Carlsbad his pro runner life. So, must be a good place.
what about the beaches?
Do you have anything against gay people? The only bad thing is that gay people HATE others gays. I think that's why you so mad towards them. YOU MUST BE GAY !!!!
NO WAY!!! SAN FRANCISCO BEATS CARLSBAD BY FAR.
I love to run on the beach. Great workout, mental and physical.
