So I've got a question: Why are elite female runners allowed to do something that, as far as I know, male runners aren't allowed to do: wear tiny skinny tops that do little more than wrap the breast-area, and that show everything from the bottom of the breast bone to the (shaved) place just below the navel?
Why do so few competitive female runners wear singlets, or full-length tops?
And why don't male runners do the same thing female runners do--apart from the obvious fact that it's incredibly gay?
If an elite male runner were so inclined, could he, too, wear a breast-wrap--well, a pec wrap--and show navel?
I'm assuming that female runners show navel because breast-wraps are both cooler and more aerodynamic than singlets. If that's true, and if male runners are, in fact, not allowed to wear such quarter-length upper garb, then female runners are being given a clear advantage, and an unfair one.
Please discuss. I'm sure I'm missing something here. I just don't get it--but I'm willing to learn.
