I am right-handed and used to start races with my right leg forward and 1rst stride forward was with my left. A teammate told me that to break my string of bad races to change this up and I did, last 3 races I have done great and actually got better starts even though I feel awkward and like I will fall down. Any reason why this makes a difference? Is there a leg you are supposed to start off of? Our coach says it does'nt matter. Anybody else like this? Any sense or science behind this or all superstitous luck/placebo.
