"The Departed", but I don't believe it was nominated.
"Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix".
Atonement will probably walk away with Best Pic

That was 2006...
It looks like "No Countr For Old Men" is the favorite. This past weekend the film walked away with Best Film and Best Director, which is a very good indication of how the Academy will vote.
What's refreshng about this years awards is that the films up for best pic are more indepedent like films. They don't have huge budgets or cliche story lines. Maybe with the violent "Departed" winning last year, the Academy is warming up to films that aren't famil friendly.
It's interesting, do you think that if "There Will Be Blood" had a different title, would it have a better chance at taking home the best picture award?
Yes...."There Will Be Cheese" would win easily.
I expect "No Country For Old Men" will win, and it might deserve to. The first 45 minutes is beyond perfect, and Javier Bardem is simply remarkable. Apparently some people are upset with the ending, which was just fine with me. "Michael Clayton" is a nearly perfect oldstyle film with terrific performances. "There Will Be Blood" is a film I admire without having actually enjoyed, but it's undeniably powerful and Daniel Day-Lewis is in a class by himself. "Juno," to me, is a bit overrated, quite good but not the brilliant things it's alleged to be. "Atonement" was a book I absolutely cherished and the movie is better than I thought it could be, but it's impossible for me to separate my feelings about the book from the film since I DID know what the surprise ending was, but they pulled it off far better than I thought they would.
But the movie of 2007 that meant the most to me and will stick with me was "Into The Wild."
Has anyone seen La Vie En Rose? I think it's up for best picture, or at least Contilliard is up for best lead actress. I saw it recently and liked it. But No Country For Old Men will be my pick and it was definitely my favorite film I saw last year.
What about SuperBad?
correction: Cotillard
Cotillard is up for best actress but the movie is not nominated
