I’ve had these episodes where I get a shortness of breath, followed by lightheadedness. The shortness of breath is sudden and feels like you do when you look in to a very strong wind. You know, like something takes your breath away. It last just a few seconds, followed by lightheadedness that makes me come close to passing out. It lasts about a second or two, then it’s gone.
I don’t get them very often and they don’t have any chest pains at all associated with them. No pain in my shoulder, back, stomach or anything like that. Just the breath being taken away followed immediately by the light headedness.
Nothing brings them on. I don’t get them while working out or running or anything that makes me breath or get my heart rate up. I had one sitting here at my desk and one on Saturday standing and talking to someone.
I have no history of heart disease in my family. My blood pressure is normal and my cholesterol is all in acceptable ranges.
Anyone have any idea what's causing this?
