Looks like Hawaii, LSU and OSU ain't shit. Look how Hawaii had no D tonight. Look how USC walloped an Illinois team that beat OSU. Look how Arkansas got slaughtered, the team that beat LSU in Baton Rouge. I don't think Jan 4 matters at all anymore. I won't say who is #1 because we'll never really know without a playoffs, but it sure isn't OSU and LSU, they are totally overrated by the eastern press boys.

Don't forget those powerhouses Stanford and Oregon and might as well throw in Washington (who Ohio State and Hawaii both beat fairly easily) and Cal. One game tells us very little.

Don't forget the the pre-season starting 22 were not on the field together until the ASU game. Since then everyone has been destroyed. The O and D are both clicking perfectly right now, its a shame that there is no playoff system. And I am not a USC fan BTW.
AS BAD as Hawaii played, I;'d take the Wac as a BCS conference anyday. It was just one game.
One bad game after a month of down time doesn't take away Hawaii's #1 fan ranking, given the way the BCS forgave Ohio State's loss to the great Illinois team and LSUs loss to the feared Arkansas football squad. USC is #1, they play in the top conference if CFB, where 2 losses is expected. The SEC, Big 10, Big 12 are weak conferences. I'd would admit the WAC. At least until the NCAA playoffs begins, without any weeks off, so the teams are sharp for the New Years bowls.

Keeping players healthy and focused is part of the challenge. OSU is clearly better than an average Illinois team, but they got their ass beat. USC should be able to beat Stanford with 3rd stringers. I would like a clear champ also, but a playoff would also have some argument and I am afraid it might take away from much of the rugular season. Also, with the exception of the 4-5 major programs that can travel fans, can teams fill a stadium half-way across the country 3-4 weeks in row?
