I drink Miller High LIfe

I have recently come of my high horse regarding beer, because now--since poverty has come to my door--my favorite brand is s.a.l.e. Perhaps not strangely Miller has the most and best sales on beer in my market, and it is the beer I used to like best of the cheaper beer I could buy in college and the service. yeah, I'd like to drink only fine brew pub and foreign blue chip beers, but who can afford it?Miller High Life is emminently drinkable and affordable.

You can get High Life in cans (this is how I did my beer mile) but it's just not as common. Then again, I rarely see PBR, and never see Old Style in these parts. Besides, if you get a 12er of High Life, should it really last all that long?

I'm talking more about the interval between packaging and arriving inside my fridge. Clear glass is rotten, and green is not much better. I'll have to keep an eye out for MHL in cans.

Considering the source, it's probably a compliment.

why does beer cost more in the bottle? just a marketing scam?

Probably because glass bottles cost more than aluminum cans and they weigh more and therefore cost more to ship. It's probably also marketing and that it tastes worse to drink beer from a can than from a bottle, though in each case you miss out on a good proportion of the flavor by not pouring it into a glass.

I drink PBR when i don't have much money, cause i can get a 6 pack of tall boys for 4 bucks at a place a block from my house. when i can afford the extra 3 or 4 bucks then i'll pick up a 6 pack of craft beers, because i definitely enjoy those more. I like a nice wheat beer best of all. and to all you wisconsinites on here, Leinies is my favorite beer! but round here all i can get is the sunset wheat

How could you show up at the K-Ranch at thanksgiving and ask for an ice cold Beamish? How could you pub crawl down Packard avenue and ask for something other than a PBR or the Champagne of beers for a buck a tap... my god, you were probably born with with the high life in your viens...

I love it how on the 'what's your income thread' everyone on letrun reports how they make at least $150,000 a year, and on the 'beer thread' everyone says they opt for the cheap stuff when they are short on $$$$.

As for me, I am not rich, but since college I really can't drink the Coors, MGD, High Life, etc. I now love guiness, oatmeal stouts, etc--probably because I drink a lot less now than in college, and a few 'hearty' brews taste good. If I was out to get plastered on 10-12 beers, I'd go with the thin, watery crap.

I had a Schiltz a couple of years ago, and surprisingly, it was outstanding. It is only sold at the old Schlitz brewery in Milwaukee, as I understand it, but it put Sam Adams to shame. And at fifty cents a beer, the price could not be beat

Would have been funnier if you had known the Schlitz Brewery has been closed for at least 30 years.

Schlitz is now made by Pabst, which ironically is a contract brewery and has most of its beer made by Miller.

Miller ain't cheap at all. Plus, he's got a brother. I think he runs the 800.
