Is Miller High Life a cheap beer? It is the regular beer I buy. Should I be ashamed to serve it to friends?

10$ for a cheeseburger?? You must be crazy....I got shotgun.
If you're out of college, then yes, you should be ashamed.
I rarely drink domestic but if/when I do I prefer The Champagne of Beers...it's also the perfect beer mile beer.
I once met Bam Margera when I was in Cancun and he was upset that the resort had not Miller High Life. All they had was Dos Equis and SOL. I would venture to guess that he has some cash so while a cheap beer, it doesn't necessarily make you a cheap person.
Miller High Life has cool labels I love the woman on the moon, along with the other things The champagne of beers.

YES
It's a great cheap beer; very drinkable for the price. $6.99 for a 12-pack of bottles here. I certainly appreciate (and would much prefer to drink) Newcastle, Blue Moon, Guiness and pretty much the entire Bell's Brewery portfolio, but for the value, MHL is tough to beat.
If ur gonna drink a wisconsin brewed beer i would drink Leinenkugel's. All of their beers are excellent except for berryweis. I'm not a big fan of that. A bar near my house has honeyweis and berryweis on tap for a $1 on tue and never more than $2 any other day of the week (20 ounce drafts). That is a damn good deal. U can get drunk for $10 thats with tip's too!!! Lets not forget that it is brewed in small batch's by 73 people who care. Honeyweis is my favorite beer. I have not tried the apple spice beer yet though. The sunset wheat is excellent. Honeyweiss is good with a lemon and sunset wheat with a orange. People say it isn't beer if u have to put fruit in it. Well they can go f*** themselves. They say that because they cannot afford to drink anything but keystone light.
The stuff is almost always on sale at the Safeway 2 blocks from my house. Something like $5.49 for a 12 pack of bottles (about what a pint at the bar costs.) I usually walk in looking to grab something better, but I always walk out with the High Life.
I also drink the champagne of beers. I applaud you for enjoying it too.
I may have to give MHL a shot, I usually go with Old Style.

I am out of college.
If we are having people over I usually have something else in the house, but just for everyday drinking we tend to have MHL.
My question really was whether it is viewed as a basic main stream beer like Bud, Coors, Miller Genuine Draft or if people are secretly thinking "that guy drinks crap beer."
I kind of want the day to day beer I drink not to be viewed as a cheep beer, in case people come over and that is all I have.
It is $6.99 a 12 pack of bottles here, the same price as a 6 pack of Spotted Cow (my favorite beer).
I'm a big fan of Coors Original and Lone Star....I've been thinking of giving MHL a shot..My take on it is that if you like it who cares what others think of you for drinking it...Coors and Lone Star are also excellent post run beers..!!

All of the beers that you list will have people thinking "that guy drinks crap beer." But it's about what you like, not what other people think. If you like the stuff, drink it.
If you like it, then buy it and drink it. If somebody comes over to my house and complains about my beer, I tell them they can go somewhere else and drink beer cause its my house.
That said, all the beers you mentioned are cheap and I wouldn't drink any of them. If you go buy a case of Sam Smith Oatmeal Stout or some Dogfish Head IPA's, I'll be happy to come over and help you finish them.
The High Life is great, but make sure to keep it in a dark place or covered, because the clear bottles allow it to skunk easier. and skunked highlife tastes like old bread. That's hardly the High Life at all.
That lady on the moon is my dame.

This guy is spot on.
Now my OPINION about MHL is that you're overpaying for mediocrity. I don't feel it's appreciably better than some of the absolute cheapest beers (e.g. PBR). I'd feel much better paying for PBR, than paying much more for just their add campaign. I feel just about the same regarding all the mass-market beers (Bud, Coors, etc) and lower end imports (Heineken, Amstel, Corona, etc).
If I have the money I'd much rather spend it on good craft beers (Deschutes, Dogfish Head, Bridgeport, Pike, Elysium, etc). If I don't have the money, but would really like some beer I'll buy something really cheap (I haven't done this for a number of years, but when I did the brands were PBR, Oly, Hamms, Black Label).
One of the first beers I had was a 6oz Miller bullet.
I'm not huge beer drinker, but when I do, I will drink Miller anywhere anytime and I could care less what someone else thinks of it.
There is NOTHING like a cold bottle of the High Life sitting on a lawn chair in the summer.
