Mitt Romney just gave a awesome speech and now has my vote. Incredible speech, I am sure not all here will agree but he won me over.

You have GOT to be kidding. What part of that verbal diarrhea impressed you?
He said absolutely nothing of consequence or anything unexpected for that matter. He basically said, "Yeah I'm different but I'm not so different when you think of all those nasty atheists that are running around and whom we have to fight. Oh yeah, and terrorists too. They hate us for our freedom."
His wetback landscapers could have written that piece of shit.
He did come across extremely intelligent and put-together. However, he will not have my vote. Too soft.
Despite his comments that his religion would govern his presidency, he made a pretty strong pitch for injecting God into public life and left atheists and agnostics on the ourtside looking in. He may be preferrable to Giuliani or Huckabee, but ... that's faint praise.
Wow, he basically said:"Instead of questioning the racist doctrines of my church or my belief in magic underwar, let's bash non-religious people together".
what a moron
He belongs to the Moron Church, after all.
Glad to see that people are still won over by how a politician looks and sounds rather than by their content.
The content was magnificent. Romney for President !!
Sickening that they keep comparing this idiot to JFK, just because he had to make a speech on this topic. JFK was trying to make religion a non-issue. Romney specifically tries to make religion an issue with his negative comments about secularism.
This also shines a light on a fundamental difference between Republicans or Democrats. Joe Lieberman never had to make such a speech.
I hope it doesn't come to this, but wouldn't it be interesting to see Romney v Obama? Obama is a devout Christian and a Democrat. The evangelicals wouldn't know what leg to stand on, although in the end few of them would probably ever consider voting for a black guy.
Romney is not a idiot. Check out the Bain Corp then tell me he is a idiot.
I agree with you about Romney vs Obama, that would be a fun race.
Yeah, let's go from a born-again nut job to some guy who believes in science fiction. Let's hear it for the Romney/Cruise ticket!
Like Hillary? (sound of hysterical laughter)
If it came down to it, I'd vote for Bush again...Lord help me...rather than HER.
Are you kidding? The evangelicals wouldn't believe that a Democrat was truly a devout Christian. They certainly don't see Obama as the candidate of Christianity. And Obama would be ill-advised to start courting the religious right.
Romney's beliefs about religion are scary to me- not because he's a Mormon, but because despite his claim that he will not mix religion and politics, it seems that his intent is to use the government to fight "secularism" and non-Judaeo/Christian religious influences on society.
If it comes down to Giuliani, a non-church-going serial adulterer, versus Clinton, a lifelong and committed Methodist who seems to take her marriage vows seriously, we'll see exactly how important a candidate's faith is to the 'religious right.'
Romney is, above all others, the candidate who will say or do whatever he and his handlers think is necessary to get elected. How long have you been a hunter, Mr. Romney?
This is a guy who tried to ban emergency contraception for rape victims. What kind of bullshit is that?
All these candidates are fake to a certain extent. Probably the most genuine are Ron Paul and Huckabee, but between the two of them there is maybe one issue which I agree with them on (and that's with Paul on the war).
It is truly saddening that in the year 2007 a presidential candidate of perhaps the greatest nation on earth gave a speech clarifying his particular view of Bronze Age myths and fairy tales.
Romney is like Obama- say nothing of real substance but look/sound impressive.
Obama- we need to recruit a new generation of teachers. (good one barack- there are plenty going to college to do that , way to come late to the game buddy)
Im going to tell the automakers their fuel economy is not acceptable. Im going to tell the lobbyist they arents going to run things anymore.(good one barack-im going to tell my jerk of a neighbor to start being nice- doesnt mean he is going to be)

Awww... poor little atheist.
yeah, romney is the quintessential sleazy politician. watching him speak makes me want to blot him with a paper towel like an extra-greasy slice of pizza. i love the charming video clips like the one of him basically telling a guy with muscular dystrophy to go f*** himself when he asked if romney would have him arrested for using medicinal MJ, like don't waste my time with your problems, kid. what a douchebag. and the last thing we need is a president who is going to make religion more of an issue than it already unfortunately is. ugh.

i agree with this sentiment, but must point out that of all the major religions, this is least true of mormonism. that one only came into existence recently.
and as for the guy saying obama and romney say nothing of substance, please form your views with some primary materials (e.g., reading or watching full speeches) rather than from secondary sources (e.g., newspaper summaries, opinion columns, blogs). i'm no romney supporter, but he has certainly put together serious policy proposals. obama probably has as much substance in his speeches as any recent candidate (at least among those with a chance to win).
don't allow your initial biases to prevent you from considering a candidate's positions on the issues. visit their websites where you will find their positions in an easily accessible format.
