Not true- I helped measure that course and it was dead on.

TEG DOES NOT, NOR WILL HE EVER, RUN THE 10K
FYI...Snow is on the ground.
It should be fun to watch. I hope to be on my 3rd beer by the times the gun goes off for that race.
Someone asked about the master's race. In the M40-49 age group, Front Line Racing is the defending champion and returns all of their top runners, so they look like the team to beat. Fluffy Bunny Track Club, led by Peter Magill, looks very strong, as does GVH, Dirigo, Club Northwest and Running Republic of Boulder.
Team Good River should put up a fight for the master's title as well. They had the 6th and 7th place individuals last year, and now have a solid roster to help out. Could be a darkhouse for top 3.
Team GVH In the Open Mens race will Surprise a alot of people!
This looks like one of the higher end profiles but everything is 2001ish

Did anyone notice how many teams withdrew from the team aspect of this race as a result of the introduction of this rule on this forum? Was anyone counting before and could compare to now?

well it applied to one of my team members. we were told they could race unattatched but not for our team since they do not live in our state.
I live about 20 minutes from the race site. There was 3-4 inches of snow last night, which will most likely melt the next few days and make things sloppy.

I made 'em extra sloppy for yous. I know how yous kids like 'em sloppy.
Lady, you're scaring us.
Definitely look for New Balance Boston to surprise some people. (www.nbboston.com)
The Women are looking phenomenal after dominating the New England Championships, being led by:
Jess Minty (11th in US Indoor Nats - Mile)
Kristen Coon (Former BC steeple/xc standout)
Erin Dromgoole (4th at 2005 Club Nats and former all american at Dartmouth)
On the mens side, they have a tight pack that could make the top 5 in the team standings.
witness the fitness
hahaha...I've beaten Coon before many times and I don't consider myself a standout so I really don't consider her to be a standout.
Genesee Valley Harriers from NY will Be a strong Team to beat in the Men's Open Race. Should have a Couple guy's in the top 20-30.
Just a course update - as of Wed evening, VOA Park is under 1-2 inches of snow. The weathermen are calling for warmer temps the next two days, with sunshine on Thurs & rain on Fri. All of the snow in the area is supposed to melt away by Friday evening. If that's the case, bust out the long spikes.
Sergio Reyes...should be there as usual.
The rule took out one of our teams best runners (we will still be there with the other 6). This runner has been active with our club for 2+ years & 25+ races (but not yet 3), but because he lives just across state lines he's out. Worst part is the only club from his state attending is 200+ miles from where he lives, while we are only about 20.
While I understand the spirit of the rule, and agree with its purpose, the way it was phased in (or not phased in) is crap. People had already bought plane tickets and paid for hotel rooms. Also, three years is too long for the grandfather clause. Shit half our team hasn't even been out of college for three years.
USATF could have handled this much, much better.
Isn't one of the exceptions if someone lives in an adjoining Association? Anyway, the rule was there before your guy bought his plane ticket and every hotel room i've ever reserved allows 24 hours cancelation.
If nobody mentioned the rule on this forum all those ringer teams would still be on the entry list. It's a small hurt for your team but a very good thing for the event that the other teams got knocked out.
We got beat in the Pacific Association by a club that brought in a ringer from two states away that did not compete on the circuit - only competed in the Championships. This is unfair.
But, I agree, the rule should have been phased-in or introduced at the beginning of the season.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
