Why don't you just come on and post 'hey i'm a dick'. Theres far too many juniors coming on here with attitude problems already we don't need another. Its not clever to congratulate someone for that type of behaviour. There is no excuse for punching someone at any time. End of story. The guy got the ban he deserved.

Only in Britain amongst "civilised" countries could this sort
of incident happen (other than banana republics that is).
If that happened in Spain the bloke would be simply banned for life.
60 million misguided idiots who think that money, hooch and violence are the only solutions to any problem.Britain is a decadent nation that doesn't rank much above Pakistan and
the Lebanon on my wall chart.
haha wall chart are gay haha
Yeah, we're really struggling with our football fans causing trouble abroad.
no problem there then , the only place they'll be going abroad this summer is to Magaluf with their fat ,overweight, ugly wives who'll beat the shit out of them when they've all had
too much hooch every evening.

I am sure if the situations was reversed and an Englishman had done this to a Scotsman then the DQ would not have happened quite as quickly.
Why do you think this? Why do Scots alway have this persecution complex? Even otherwise intelligent and reasonable Scots seem to think that the English have some special grudge against them. They don't, the English couldn't give a toss about the Scots.
Obviousaly the lad Horsfield did care enough about the scots to call one a 'Jock c**t' after tripping and shoving him for much of the race to that point.
Do you actually think he did this because he was Scotish?
I suppose you saw and heard all this..... no? I think there are too many rumours flying around about this incident that are very wrong. The only certain fact is that Mcnulty lashed out and deserved to get punished for his unsporting behaviour.
Somebody said it before corect that there are far too many kids mouthing off about the incident on the eightlane site. Comments like 'I think everyone got what they deserved' from Carey. Christ I wonder what they are all like on the same team.
Too bad for Horsefield that he can't decide whether or not to press charges as Scot's Law states that it is the police determine whether or not charges can be pressed. McNulty is a genuine stand up guy and one of the most passive people I have ever met. But he's from Glasgow and just like John Smeaton says - "We'll set about you".
I heard Ben Lindsay went looking for a fight after the race on Saturday also. Its a shame that this is the future of our sport.
Um, yes, perhaps, but bear in mind that this won't be governed by Scots law.
This is a sad state of affairs all round. Gamesmanship is one thing, and we've all handed out a few elbows and spikes here and there in cross country, but frankly if you're down to resorting to that sort of name-calling then it strikes me that you're expecting to finish well down the field. It really is a bit petty. I don't know the circumstances, or whether there is any history between the two, but I think Conor will know he's done wrong.
I wouldn't know this lad Horsfield if he came up and punched me in the face (sorry...) but on the couple of occasions I've had anything to do with Conor he's struck me as a thoroughly decent young lad. This might be one that is best left for the relevant people to deal with before informed comment can be passed.

It made my day when i heard he was on the sefton park grass crying, connor mcnulty i am going to buy you 4 goats for xmas you are my hero . FACT
Now get of your high horse and get the miles in.
F*** THE HORSE LONG LIVE MCNULTY!!!!!!!!

Simon is a good lad. I know for a fact he is'nt pressing charges, and probably wants all the talk about the matter to settle down so he can get on with his running. I don't care how 'good a lad' you think this Mcnulty is. What he did was inexcusable. If he can't conduct himself properly he needs to find a new sport. Or grow up.

Simon is not a good lad, if he was he wouldnt of got a smack in the first place.
mcnulty for KING
Who's Simon Horefield? You really are just making yourself sound stupid here son. Maybe you should think about posting once you've gotten through puberty? I'd love to know how you define the 'BIG BOY SHIT'. I'm off to 'blow a goat'. I suggest you use your time to learn the English language.

Very very sad.
Ben Lindsay was looking for a fight? The poor guy has a face that looks like he's constantly taken a few poundings - the ugly tw@t.
I wouldn't be surprised if Todd Canham has never even met Simon Horsfield. Probably just a bit of jealousy as he's a year younger and about 1min better than him over 3km.
As you put it Todd, you better get some miles in!!
