I can't wait to see that cocky Abdallah loser run his proclaimed 13:45 this spring....going from top 10 in D3 to national class in D1 in two seasons should be fascinating...he'll be lucky to break 14:10
I'm so glad he got his ass beat today.

Yeah, I bet he's really smarting from that national title he just led his team to.
WAY TO GO, VIOLETS! OUTSTANDING! YEEEEEAAAAAHHHHH!
What a super win for NYS, NYC, Greenwich Village, and Nick McDonough--GREAT job in building the program, Coach! Four all-Americans AGAIN--way to go, Popeson!
Of course, now the questions: With almost all of NYU's guys graduating, who will take the race next year? 'Ford? The (mostly) young team from Cortland? (The Red Dragons ran superbly and won each of their matchups with the NYU guys, except for fifth man.)
And will CMU take the UAA next year? Don't bet against NYU just yet--their B squad would have beaten some of the teams today...
PS Let me be the first: I picked Kosgei FTW and I was wrong.
He still did a great job, and he's young (eligibility-wise).
(Super run by Sigl, BTW.)
PPS You all realize that this means Hany *is* a national champion, right?
Okay, I screwed up on the all-American thing. My bad--I was going by team places and didn't include the nonscorers...
Haverford is also senior laden, so probably not next year.
NYU has more than 10x the number of undergrads as Haverford. All congrats but, after thirty plus years, this might have been Donnelly's shot and it would have been nice to see him get it. Everybody ran well though.

This is just ridiculously good pack running by UW-L. I don't think I've ever seen five guys come across the line like this. And they weren't even close to one another at any of the intermediate splits.
71 2 682 Dan Thour Uw La Crosse 25:39 5:10
72 3 679 Connor Lonning Uw La Crosse 25:39 5:10
73 4 680 Paul Moran Uw La Crosse 25:40 5:10
74 5 683 Dallas Vincent Uw La Crosse 25:40 5:10
75 6 675 Kyle Coghlan Uw La Crosse 25:41 5:10
Just more proof that LaCrosse is an overrated program. None of their guys can think for themselves.

i think we all know that the number of undergrads is irrelevant-- its not like high school where a team is drawing only from the school's population. these are all recruited guys.
also, how about that 'protestant ethic,' huh?
calvin and luthor 4th and 8th respectively and nebraska welsleyan (methodist, i believe) in the top 15, too.
haha
Here's how the scores would look if you scored the regions against each other, team style.
AT 2 6 8 9 19 21 29 = 44
MW 1 5 10 20 24 31 43 = 60
CN 3 4 22 25 26 27 30 = 80
WS 7 13 14 15 47 49 50 = 96
GL 11 23 32 33 34 37 39 = 133
MA 12 16 17 40 41 42 45 = 126
NE 18 28 35 36 38 44 46 = 155
SE 48 51 52 53 54 55 56 = 258
Cortland looks like the early favorite for next year. It looks like all of their guys have eligibility.
or they are overrated because they have no dominate runner. they just get the typical runners from high school who were good, not enough to go d1, so go to lax and still dont improve that much. no all americans?
only 1 dominant runner, excuse me.
128 Points! for the men's win, that is not that great. No team was a real cut above the rest. I can't believe 128 points won, that is rediculous. Im out.
A win is win no matter what the score is....And i guess from your view the girls race was no great either cause the top two teams in that race were around the same exact points as in the mens race. 1st -120's 2nd -150s
Why do those MIAC threads go on for 500 posts? They suck.
Well its official the most under rated region this year was by far the Mideast followed by the Northeast while the most over rated was by far the Great Lakes followed by the West and the Midwest. Pretty much what I thought all year I guess I'm just wondering if anyone’s surprised by this besides the selection committee and the pollsters.
I think 4th, 3rd and 2nd over the past four years shows that graduation won't prevent Donnelly from molding top teams. I wouldnt be surprised to see this trend continue for a long time.
Hearty congrats to NYU and Phillips on a national title. This might have been one of the deepest team races in recent times and to pull out the win deserves recognition.
UW-Stevens Point ran ok and finished a respectable 6th place, nice work guys!
They will also no doubt contend for a trophy next year as four of their top five are juniors and the other is a freshman. Their Regional #4 was a sophomore, too.
Great season guys. I would not be surprised if they are able to throw together a pretty sick DMR too this winter. They had a decent one last year that got robbed of an All-American finish.
Can anybody fill me in on course conditions? Times this year were CONSIDERABLY faster than 2002, which had some serious studs in Bak and Kleimenhagen, just to name a couple. As I ran in that race, I can tell you that conditions were actually pretty decent that day. It was a little chilly but the ground was hard and it wasn't crazy windy or snowy or anything. So what caused the times to be so fast (comparatively speaking)?
They had to reroute the course, which made it considerably easier.

well being from the great lakes i thought that maybe they deserved to get 5 teams out. I realize now that that was a gross overgeneralization.
south showed they truly maybe deserve 2 teams out.
