If you honestly think Hall's foolish behavior is going to somehow make running more appealing to the general public, you're living in a fantasy world. If anything, it will have the opposite effect by confirming to the public that distance runners are the biggest bunch of dorks in the sporting world.
Foolish would be if he brought out a marker and started autographing running shoes and threw them into the stands. Foolish would be running backwards pointing at Ritz in moment of degredation. Foolish would be to not enjoy dominating the best american marathon ever assembled by wanting to appease the classic 50's style sports geeks out there who think respect and humble mean the same thing.
Foolish or not, Most fans of any sport like a peoples champion, and I thought Ryan filled that role on saturday.
