Wilson Kipketer ran 1.49.6 according to website below?
Born in 1972 and in 1985 supposedly ran 1.49.6, can\'t be true, right?!

I can believe that.

he probably was 15yrs old when it happend.
We all know how accurate birth certificates are in 3rd world countries.
no, not the point. the point is people believe anything. 13 year olds running under 1:50, Lance was clean, etc... I have no idea if kipketer ran that time at that age, but it seems unlikely given the supposed issues with africans and their reported ages and the quality of that time for an undeveloped body. that's all.
He was born 12/12/1970
And I don't believe that any of those 13 years old gymnasts who win gold medals at the olympics are their purported ages either.

Young gymnasts out perform older gymnasts because gymnasts start tumbling at like age 5 so by the time they are 13, 14, 15, they are at their peak. Plus it helps to be smaller on the balance beam and uneven bars.
Alan
Kevin Sullivan ran 1:53 in 8th grade, which is 13 or 14 years old if Canada's grade system is the same as America's.

obviously a very educated opinion. you mean like the 13 year old male olympic gymnasts? oh wait, they aren't that young.
So in the year where he joined a new school and he was "able to train together with some of the best Kenyan runners" he ran two seconds slower than the previous year? Interesting...
I didnt know he was only 1.72 tall?

Thirteen-year-old gymnasts haven't been allowed in the Olympics for a while now.
i can see that with his natural talent and if he was an early bloomer.

Wilson wasn't on EPO until his 20s.
...is one of the greatest runners ever.
I can believe that. Cody Harper who runs for UNC has the Junior Olympic Age Group record for the 800 at 1:56.36 for the Youth Division. If I remember correctly that is for 14-15 year olds. I know he was in 8th grade when he ran that so he was 14. So, for Kipketer who is the World Record Holder to run that fast that young, it is certainly believable.
Kevin was 14 years and about 4 months when he ran that.
Gotta correct myself, though people weren't paying me much mind(thankfully). I was going off of all-time-athletics which lists that DOB. The IAAF gives 12/12/1972:

Frightening if he did indeed run 1:49.6 at age 12.
