Anyone?
Anyone?
Darrell General will be top 5 among the American men. Likely he will go out easy and will start passing dudes by mile 21. He wants a piece of that money pie!
No other predictions on this race. I'd really like to see somebody pop a nice time this weekend.
Snow time is all I got to say.
Ray Appenheimer 2:16:17 in his debut
Go Gate!!!
David Morris...possibly out-right, although it will be interesting to see how many of the world's best masters place ahead of the top U.S. guys, who according to the posts on this site, think we'll see results simular to the 80's. Could happen but I think not. Brown will run tough, because he is tough, maybe a few surprises in the 213-214 range, but I also think most of the Farm Team will not be a factor. Graff and Hauser have shown good range at the 10 mile to half distance, but 26.2 is a whole new world.
Top six any order..the kenyan masters defending champ...a russian or 2, Fydorov, Morris and another, possibly Brown.
I will run 2.10 - anything less is shit
disappointing and slow, what else?
I predict Lundstrom to be top 5 US.
I'll throw a name out there, not well known but..
Ryan Meissen from Hudson, WI
Top 5 or 6
He ran around 29:00 in his only 10k on the track this spring, ran 64 minutes for Grandmas half, been getting some good training.
I am predicting a lot of sore legs and pasta consumption...

I would hate to be a favorite in a marathon. Most favorites don't DO IT! Look for some surprises in the finish as always. You can't predict because of so many factors...that's what makes the marathon so.o.o. interesting. I want to see a lot of good American performances and am more interested in them working as a team to sweep than have concern over who wins. I could name ten guys who are capable of the win, but there is a wide range in this field of Americans in terms of experience in the marathon, consistency, and talent. It takes all of it to pull out a very fast time. good luck to everyone.
Dan Browne is the new King - 2:11 debut! Looks like that Nike project might be onto something.
The "Letsrun Advanced Poll was "right on"! Congratulations
to Dan AND to Nike!
