Doesnt seem too mental breaking the American record his first time racing past 10k (and then 2:12 for a marathon debut)
Seems mentally and otherwise, he's right on.

Elvis: Rebel who defined a generation, and had great hair.
Fernando: Rebel who has had no effect on pop culture and is just a follower to what MTV tells him is cool. and he has bad hair.

cabada is more talented than most realize and if he can get some of the issues he's dealt with in the past resolved and get some stability in training and environment (something he developed with simmons) he'll be a threat in the marathon for sure. The guy does hold an AM and holds one of the fastest american marathon debuts with a 2:12!!!

The most notable thing in that post is that 4 out of the top 5 debut's ended as that athlete's PB. In other words don't expect much more if you had a terrific debut.
are pretty stupid...you do realize this is a MARATHON. Its not like Ritz when he ran the 10k at the last olympics for the purpose of gaining experience. You don't run marathons just for "the experience" if your an elite athlete. Hes already ran 2:12, the last thing he needs to do is waste a damn Marathon and run 2:20 just for some f*cking experience. If yall think Ritz can contend than so can Cabada considering he had a better debut than him. Personally I wouldn't pick him to get top 3 but Im also not saying that he cant get top 3 cause anything can happen in a marathon. Better to sit this one out, and continue building up than throwing this in the shitter 'just because' and have to start all over again...
someone sounds a little jealous over Ritz's national notoriety. settle down cranky pants and produce another one of those award winning youtube documentary's.
After a great amount of research it has been determined that Fernando Cabada has an approval rating of 25%. The disheartening news is that he has a zero approval rating by anyone with an IQ over 88. This is probably fairly obvious to many of you.
How did Fasil and Fernando get along as roommates. They seem very dissimilar.
Let us just say that they are no longer roommates and leave it at that. Fernando has decided to give altitude a shot. Fasil is currently living in Boulder. Fernando decided to go to Flagstaff. Enough said.
... except that Fasil is returning to Flagstaff and probably room with Cabada. Now, that's enough said, douche
Ryan Hall?
Cabada, I hope you're reading this. Don't worry about these jealous little boys -- they'll never be near you in a race. The fact that even finishing one of your workouts would be a crowning lifetime achievement for most of them just adds to their rage.
The yapping responses to these YouTube posts are great. It is kind of what I would imagine if you could translate the noise in a room full of puppies when their master throws them a bone.
You are mistaken. By not running he IS getting beat. He is admitting that every single runner in that race will beat him.
If one drops out, they finish last. If one does not even start, they are admitting they will finish last. Maybe he is out of shape, maybe he is hurt, but it doesn't change that fact. I hate these people who drop out of a race or don't run to try and save face. I doubt Cabada will say he is better then these guys on that day (it is why he said he is not running). Do you really believe that just finishing his workout is an achievement?
This is the dumbest thing I have heard in a long time.
The fact is the guy is good and needs a good coach and good training group. He has the potential to be a 2:08-2:10 guy, he just needs to focus. I wish him the best of luck in finding that coach!
Watch the video, dude. He's got that coach now. The one that got him to 2:12.

The only coach that is slimey enough to put up with that crap.
2:12 and then nothing...doesn't sound like a very good coach to me. Why did he let him run Worlds and not get him ready for the trials. that would have seemed like a give for any coach in the country.
I don't watch the videos but it seems to me like he needs to go to an organization that can treat him like a college coach does his athletes.
He's the Elvis Presley of distance running.
The good news is that distance running isn't just for the pussies and mommas boys anymore. 2nd place sucks and I wouldn't race for 12th place either.
He was so much of a loser that when he was here in Fayetville we had a member of the coaching staff that was so crooked he is serving jail time and Fernando got kicked off the team. In other words, Fernando's actions were worse than a guy serving time.
Fernando was arrested in Bloomington for DUI and tried to outrun the cops. At some point, he has to learn.
