Charles White, a 152 800, 227 1000 and 409 miler,verbally commits to the University Of Texas. Looks like Texas is going to have a nice "rebuilding" year next year in the middle distance area. Losing Manzano and Stanley which is obviously going to be hard but going to be gaining their top recruit last year ,Brian Rhodes Devey (4:09,1:51, FL Finalist) and now White.
what happened to Stanley?
I meant they'll be gone next year, the year white enters his freshman year and brian rhodes-devey enters his sophmore year at UT.
what about hernandez(sp), he has run fast no doubt, but his high school times seem to project better?
he might be fast but someone needs to teach white how to race. he always goes out guns blazing and dies at the end, not the way to win at the ncaa level. he can get away with it in hs but will get roasted in college if he doesn't learn.

He has run 4:13, and 1:52 in the 1600 and 800. He has split 1:50 and change as well.
Very talented, under trained runner that could be a good one for Texas.
Given their history- its safe to say they will never be lacking for at least a few real strong milers.
CW has been running 100 + mile weeks for years. Where will he go from here?... the upside is limited. He's a great kid coming from his first program where he literally got no help or coaching to a program where he can thrive but at what cost in mileage on his body. Someone did not do his homework here.

thats really stupid. If you can get a 4:09,2:27,1:51 junior...you take him. He was running high mileage when he was a freshman and he has obviously improved. He may not improve as rapidly as a kid who has never run over 30mpw but he is a quality kid. And if you were to not recruit a girl because her parents are overweight...you are the biggest idiot in the entire world!!!!
cherry creek hs does not have their kids run 100m weeks, maybe half that.
