Downie has always been a loose cannon and a very dirty hockey player. Left his feet, guy didn't have the puck and went for the head. I think that he might get 10 to 12 regular season games unless the guy ends up in a wheelchair.
You do realize that hockey blows, right?
Bill Wirtz is dead. It will blow a little less now.

With MMA fighting available as an outlet, I wonder why some of these goons don't try that... Oh, wait, it's because they're cowards. If the other guy was *expecting* this kind of shit, he'd be ready to dish it right back. Downie wants to dish it but not take it.
Same goes for defensive backs in the NFL. The dudes that love to "blow-up" the receivers and backs. Nice job trying to ruin someones career so you can do a happy dance and make the SC highlight reel. Tackle football not take the guys head off with your fore-arm football.
Now back to the hockey portion of this thread.

It's called testosterone. And yes, it's a bad thing sometimes.
Speaking of MMA, I was watching Bodog last night and there were two women fighting and they were grappling trying to take it down to the mat and they fell and the one womans leg snapped off at the ankle. I mean her foot came completely detached from the leg. It was absolutely disgusting.
Anyhow, those meatheads know the risks of MMA and this kind of injury is a by product, but the hits intended to injure in hockey or the linebacker trying to end a guys career is unnecessary.
