OK so now name a Caucasian male elite runner who is short (say under 5'6).
There are not many.

Lots of short club runners (becasue it's the only sport they are fairly good at) but I can't think of many excellent ones.
Luke Beevor was 6'10.
Mark Feigen was 6'6.
Taller people have a harder time dissapling heat due to a larger volume to surface area rato and thus will run
slower unless they somehow overcone this problem
I'm 6'5 and a quarter... I've always been worried that I may be do big for distance running. I run at a good D1 school. Do I have any hope of professional aspersions?? I weigh about 178
Wouldn't taller people have a larger surface area to volume ratio and thus be able to dissipate heat more easily than their shorter counterparts?

A couple of 6'5" guys: Luke Puskedra, Jim Spisak
Luke Puskedra and Jim Walmsley are similar height and weight (6'4", 170lbs).
Galen Rupp and Diego Estrada are similar height and weight (5'11", 135lbs).
Jim Walmsley is 6' - unless he grew? And to me he looks like he can't be more than 150lbs.
