I've actually noticed that myself. It seems like Indiana has more than its fair share of people on this board. And I'm one of them. I wonder what the explanation might be for that.

Indiana is a glorious state, and we all should be proud of ourselves for living in it.
Anyone else here work in the gov't center downtown?
Mr. Revenge.....you do not work for IDEM do you? If so get back to work.
I'll check in as a Hoosier also !
I spent a week in Terre Haute one night....
As Mentioned Ryan has a 1:44.3 hand time for 880yds which tied Snells 1:44.3 hand for 800m although he must have passed the 800 meter mark in a shorter time the yards was the only time taken.I believe Dave Wottle got a piece of that before Wohlhuterset a new one in his first 800m WR.

Already been covered, Mr. Fast.
Bloomington, home of Indiana University, is the homosexual capital of the midwest.
I reside in Indiana as well.
I haven't noticed a lot of other Hoosiers on here though.
I live in SoBro (ha!).
I am not "from" Indiana, though I have lived here 12 years. It is growing on me..

Mr. Kennedy has a rather nice little running shop here on the north side of Indy. Got his autograph at a road race in the late fall of my senior year of high school. Nice guy, he is.

Watch your typos and errors wineturtle, you are too much of an expert to demean yourself:
Of course, you meant Ryun, not Ryan.
Ryun did NOT run 1:44.3 for 880 yards, he ran 1:44.9. If they had had a clock at 800 meters, maybe he would have run right at, on, or just above the existing WR of 1:44.3( Snell 1962) but we'll never know. So as great as his run was, he did not in any matter shape or form set or tie a WR for 800 meters. Unfair, yes, but probably his time was so unexpected that officials did not plan ahead for a 800 meter time. But he at least got credit for an AR for 800 meters for the 1:44.9, breaking the old mark ( I think) of Tom Courtney of 1:45.8. Plummer had the same problem in 1963 when he ran 44.9 for 440 yards, but at least in his case he got a tie of the 400 m record besides blasting the old 45.7 440 record.
Frist I'm not any kind of expert and second I'm not much of a typist or speller, Ryun sorry that I should have caught.
Making a mistake is not demeaning in any way nor is my poor spelling and grammar.
Pela lists are usually correct and this info has been up for a while. Since every track fan uses these lists I'm surprised no one reported the error. I am under the impression the h and yd performances are place in the meters lists, in time order, at face value no conversion.
Mattilist is created from Pela's list

I live in Indiana, Indianapolis to be exact, but I am not from Indiana. I have been here two years. People might asking why did you move to Indiana? most move away, but rest assured I am leaving after this year!
indiana has personality, character, charm. outside of the large coastal states, indiana is probably one of the more "stereotyped" states in the union as far as its people.
wineturtle, first off, no criticism intended, not one bit ! You are a knowlegable Trackster here, that's obvious from you postings.
Re the list you show, they frequently convert times from Y's to m, using in this case an arbitrary .6; I think that first list does that with the "t". The second list is more misleading, with the "y". It means it is a y time that has THEN been arbitrarily chopped down by that same .6.
To repeat, Ryun probably got cheated out of an 800 wr, either tied or broken, but we were a lot less "metric conscious" then plus his fast time was totally out of the blue so they were not prepared for the possibility. I have no idea what his prior PR was but it was light years away form 1:44.9 y.
re my above, I just looked again... do not know what that "t" means on the first list, but that list is a bit misleading because it does not show that the 1:44.3 is a converted time rather than an actually-clcked one... whereas the seconf list is misleading even worse as one could think the 1:44.3 was truly clocked at 880 yards.

Please stop! Your information is not correct, and you're giving more credence (sp?) to peoples opinions of Indiana. I will give you the benefit of the doubt, and think that you are confusing Bob with his Dad, who was from Indiana. The link below, although dated, is accurate.
